RELATED: Class 2A all-state team
Madison had its most successful football season in nearly a decade this year. That success was recognized Monday when the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors Class 3A all-state team was released.
Junior defensive lineman Eric Jefferson was a first-team all-state selection after recording 10 sacks and 64 tackles in the regular season. He helped Madison to a 9-3 season – the school’s most wins in a season since an 11-2 campaign in 2010.
Madison senior quarterback Jaylin Thibodeaux and senior defensive back Dakari Lee earned second-team all-state honors, while senior offensive lineman Ruben Bowman and junior running back Jayleen Record were honorable mention selections. Thibodeaux threw for 2,577 yards and 44 touchdowns, and Record ran for 1,159 yards and 18 touchdowns.
